Quality of fuel atomization from small pressure-swirl atomizers
Experimentální část popisuje testovací trať, provozní podmínky a nastavení experimentu. Výsledy obsahují vizualizaci spreje, velikostní rozložení kapek uvnitř spreje, profily rychlosti a Sautrova středního průměru za použití různých provozních podmínek jako je různá vzdálenost od trysky, rozdílný vstupní tlak a různé kapaliny.
Dexterity, or build your house
Netrefová, Klára ; MA, Klára Zahradníčková, (referee) ; Kristek, Jan (advisor)
The design of anthropoid / metamorphosis loosely follows the pre-diploma project Fortel or so called "build a house" when I decided to "put my hand to the work, cut, drill, fold…" and to rediscover the imprints of work and tools in the mass from which they disappeared due to the mass production. The output of the project was an eclectic, crumbling garden of prefabricated bricks. Capillary (open) porosity usually occurs in brick products. It allows the penetration and retention of a relatively large amount of water. The bricks are made of natural mineral raw materials, as well as expanded clay, which is commonly used as a hydroponic substrate. At the same time, the porosity of the brick blocks causes future degradation of the material in the exterior. The disrupted "worked" ceramic blocks in the garden burst, mix with the substrate and create a breeding ground for plants. In my diploma thesis I move away from materials formed into modules, imported to the construction site, and I deal with matter in its freest fluid form and forms arising in-situ. The work is permeated by three fluid media, water, clay and concrete. Concrete - initially a fluid material, takes the form of two other materials, solidifies. Clay - as a semi-solid - semi-fluid material Water - infinitely fluid material, still present, rapidly transforms, and periodically comes and disappears, transforms the other two materials. The materials mix together, form into matter, then drain and disintegrate and disappear when their time comes. With these nature-friendly processes, the design works on three scales. On a micro scale, matter decomposes into gravel, sand, loess, which nourishes soils and plants, and allows an environment suitable for a variety of animals. In the middle scale, these are small objects that shape and manipulate the landscape. And in a big scale, it is co-working with the landscape itself.
Experimental study of spray characteristics and functionality of small pressure-swirl atomizers
Byl použit různý počet vstupních portů (2, 3 a 4), různé vířivé komůrky (kulová, kuželová, konvexní, nízká kuželová) a rozdílné návrhy obtokového otvoru (osové, mimosové). Důraz byl kladen na posouzení stability spreje, kde pulzující sprej negativně ovlivňuje provozní charakteristiky spalovací komory. Vlastnosti spreje byly proměřeny fázovým dopplerovským analyzátorem, cirkulární homogenita byla hodnocena mechanickým paternátorem a rozpad kapaliny byl vizualizován pomocí jednoduchého laserového stínografu.
Processing and analysis of HS videorecords of liquid atomization for a pressure-swirl nozzle
Červenec, Adam ; Lízal, František (referee) ; Jedelský, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with processes of liquid atomization for a pressure-swirl nozzle. The main goal was to study liquid cone, which is gradually fragmenting on smaller parts ending in creating small droplets. It was needed to study theory of liquid flow, motion of droplets and an impact of the geometry of nozzle. When the theoretical part ended we could perform an experiment, which consists of preparing devices and creating own video records using highspeed camera Photron FASTCAM SA-Z. The camera provided us detailed view on the spray and events, for example collisions of droplets, which are the main subject of this thesis. Afterwards the video records were analyzed and we could provide results connected with studied problem.
Cartoon humor in Dikobraz magazine from Velvet revolution to the Czechoslovakia dissolution
Pour, Petr ; Bednařík, Petr (advisor) ; Köpplová, Barbara (referee)
The purpose of the work is to analyze cartoon humor on the pages of the humorous and satirical magazine Dikobraz between November 1989 and December 1992. This period was a significant change in the political system for Czechoslovakia. The communist totalitarian regime was replaced by a democratic establishment. At the end of this period, there was a division into independent Czech and Slovak republics. For the purposes of the work, the professional literature devoted to the observed period, especially in the political sphere, was studied. Furthermore, 162 issues of the magazine Dikobraz were studied, or Nový Dikobraz. In the practical part, selected political and social events and their depiction with the help of cartoon humor are presented.
The Atmosphere in the Czech and Slovak Society after the Breakup of the Czechoslovakia: The Event in the Context of Comments in the Broadcasting of the Czech and Slovak Radio (1.1.-31.12.1993)
Kobrlová, Eva ; Lovaš, Karol (advisor) ; Maršík, Josef (referee)
This diploma thesis aims to convey the atmosphere in the Czech and Slovak society at the time of the Breakup of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic. For this purpose, comments broadcasted by Czechoslovak Radio, Czech Radio respectively, and Slovak Radio were analyzed. The author collected all such comments connected with the breakup of Czechoslovakia between the 1st of July, 1992, and the 31st of December, 1993, regardless of whether these comments focused on the defense, criticism, causes, or consequences of this event. For the analysis itself, the method of analytic induction was used. To put the issue into a broader context, the analysis itself is preceded by a brief overview of events related to the breakup of Czechoslovakia in the period under review. The overview is followed by a description of how the event was perceived by Vladimir Mečiar and Václav Klaus, leaders of the two most powerful political parties in Czechoslovakia at that time and, therefore, the main figures of the breakup. The description is based on their publications and social outputs. To give an insight into the atmosphere mainly in the media under review but also into the atmosphere in the Czech and Slovak society, the perspective of Anna Sámelová and Jan Pokorný, journalists working in the mentioned media at that time,...
Collapse of the USSR - Russsian national tragedy? Analysis of the Russian public opinion on the dissolution of the Soviet Union
Lelek, Jakub ; Svoboda, Karel (advisor) ; Kolenovská, Daniela (referee)
Bachelor thesis Collapse of the USSR - Russian national tragedy? Analysis of the Russian public opinion on the dissolution of the Soviet Union discusses the Russian public opinion development about the end of the Soviet Union during the presidency of Boris Yeltsin (1991 - 1999) and Vladimir Putin (2000 - 2008). The first chapter illustrates the situation in Russia after the collapse of the USSR; afterwards it describes the social, political and economic situation of the country during mentioned periods. Based on the available opinion polls and academic works the second part of the thesis examines the shift in Russian understanding of the collapse of the Soviet Union. The fundamental premise of this thesis is the idea that the end of the USSR was Russian national tragedy. After the analysis author concludes that in Russian society during the presidency of both Yeltsin and Putin remained a basic level of post- Soviet nostalgia, yet it wasn't a national tragedy. The regretting was presented within the older generation, for which the Soviet Union symbolized not only a major global player in international politics, but also their own (often idealized) youth, as well as within the younger generation, that has never had direct experience with the USSR. Furthermore author concludes that due to the...
Sketching Trauma: the Disintegration of Yugoslavia in Comics
Korytářová, Anna ; Žíla, Ondřej (advisor) ; Šístek, František (referee)
Master thesis examines comics that reflect the break-up of Yugoslavia. The theoretical part describes the main discourses that aim to explain the dissolution of Yugoslavia as well as the essential theoretical background of comics studies. The analytical part examines the ways in which comics mediate the break-up of Yugoslavia and, in particular the trauma associated with it. Authors of the comics most often work with a discourse that argues ethnic hatred, but they view it critically and point out its falsity. The analysis further revealed that comics provide a vast space for empathizing with victims of war trauma. Getting to know the survivors of traumatic events closely, as well as the concept of false memories that develop during reading of comics, facilitates empathetic reading. All the authors refuse to glorify war, focusing instead on the fatal effects that war has on the lives of ordinary people.
Main events of the period of dissolution of the Soviet Union in Czech media
Mališová, Klára ; Bednařík, Petr (advisor) ; Just, Petr (referee)
This thesis deals with how three chosen Czech daily newspapers - Rudé právo, Mladá fronta (later Mladá fronta DNES) and Lidové noviny - wrote about significant events that took place in the union republics during the last three years of the Soviet Union's existence (1989-1991). It specifically focuses on those events through which the republics were trying to regain freedom and independence for themselves - either through protests, or in a political matter. The thesis also addresses events that were somehow groundbreaking or during which ordinary people, who went to the streets to express their dissaproval of current political situation or to defend legally elected bodies, lost their lives. The thesis uses qualitative analysis to find out if there was a difference in how these three selected Czech newspapers wrote about such events in the context of changes that occured in the Czech political and media system, and if each own coverage somehow evolved.
Brexit and its implications for European integration
Hecht, Petr ; Kučerová, Irah (advisor) ; Plechanovová, Běla (referee)
The diploma thesis Brexit and its implications for European integration uses the method of explanatory case study in an effort to analyze the causes and impacts of the Great Britain's withdrawal from the European Union. The thesis therefore examines the historical context of the complicated relations between Great Britain and the European Communities from their formation in the 1950s to the present, which ultimately led to the historic step of United Kingdom's withdrawal from the EU on 31 January 2020. The thesis then maps the negotiations regarding the Withdrawal Agreement and the future arrangement of mutual relations, which took place between 2016 - 2020. The effects of the UK's withdrawal from the EU on the composition and functioning of the European institutions and the impact of the changes on the remaining member states are also analyzed. In addition, the work presents possible arrangements of economic relations between the two parties, which are currently the subject of negotiations between the UK and the EU during the transitional period from 1 February 2020 to 31 December 2020. Lastly, the thesis works with the White Paper presented by the European Commission in 2017 in order to analyze five possible scenarios for the future development of European integration. For this, the thesis...
